Vibe-Rehab Ltd has supplied Galileo rehabilitation and training equipment in NZ for the last 15 years.
Galileo side-to-side alternating whole body vibration machines are acknowledged world-wide as the most robust, accurate and reliable available, and most scientific research supporting clinical use has been conducted using such machines.

About the Galileo

The machine was originally designed to exercise ageing people who were weak due to ageing or specific problems which reduced their mobility and quality of life, such as osteoporosis, muscle weakness, joint stiffness, swelling and discomfort after injury or surgery.

Galileo is approved for medical use in EU and USA. Specific diseases shown in scientific research studies to be positively affected include:

  • lower back pain
  • limb swelling due to lymphedema
  • post-traumatic bone and joint injury
  • muscle stiffness, weakness and osteoarthritis
  • incontinence
  • cerebral palsy
  • restoring post-surgical mobility and function after pelvic or groin surgery
  • strain and tearing of muscle, tendon or ligament
  • reduction of pain sensation

The Galileo programme improves muscle action by affecting both the muscle itself and the nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) which govern voluntary and reflex movements. The effect is better muscle tone and strength, more flexible joints, reduction in pain, better balance and walking speed, and better quality of life. The machine has been shown to be safe, with no side effects reported in the literature, after use by hundreds of thousands of people. The training results in similar force development and pain reduction as conventional strength training, but takes much less time.

Vibration training can be performed by people with heart problems because there is almost no effect of the training on the heart.
